I went twice within two days to try more of the sides and see if the ribs were consistent.

The pork ribs are nice and tender they have a nice rub and they also have a nice sauce which makes the ribs a pleasure to eat. They are not Phillips/Woody's caliber but to be honest neither of those two are what they were . They have both gone down.

The beef brisket is wonderfully tender and smokey. I really enjoyed it. Its on par with the best you find around town.

The main shortcoming are the sides.

Bland mac n cheese
good coleslaw
decent bbq stand potato salad
bland corn
ok bbq beans

The difference between good and great can be found in the sides.

The bbq beans are red beans a kidney/chili bean in bbq sauce not slow cooked bbq baked beans. Different but adequate. Some will like them others not.

I liked lemon pound cake dessert. Peach Cobbler I did not. Sweet potato pie was actually okay. And I need to get back to try the banana pudding.

its a nice take out only place located a short hop west of century and la brea (Hawthorne)

I hope to see the sides improved upon and its a blast and welcome edition to the bbq scene in LA

The hours can not be beat.
