bacon grease vs pork fat?

Hi folks,

I have a recipe here that calls for me to toast some chiles in a little pork fat before using them. I only have bacon grease on hand. Can I use it? I realize it's probably much saltier but since I'm using such a small amount I figured I'd have a go at it.
