Bacon cravings

i am in dire need of a recommendation for buying good bacon! definition of good - cured, smoked (preferably double mahogany), thick and in the $5/lb range. the uncured beet colored stuff at whole foods isn't cutting it and i'm on the verge of ordering online but would rather not pay $10/lb +shipping. i'm in cambridge so the closer the better but i'm willing to make a trip out of town on the weekend if it's warranted - please help!
