I'm part of a group that has reservations for FL's private room several days after they're scheduled to reopen.
On the off-chance (we didn't think the reopening would end up being so close to our date) that the French Laundry does not open as scheduled, we've decided we need a backup plan.
We have a group of 11 as of right now, all in San Francisco for a meeting. We're looking for a kind of fancy atmosphere, price no object (this is a business dinner), leaning toward French or California cuisine or both. My first thoughts were Masa's, Boulevard or Gary Danko, but I don't know if any of them are big enough to deal with a group of 11. We don't want to book a private room (and they're probably booked already anyway). Oh, and several of us have a real need for foie gras. Any suggestions, on those restaurants or any others?
Separate question for another night - any restaurants, of any type, that you'd recommend in Cow Hollow? Betelnut?
Any thoughts of the ethics/morality of making a backup reservation that we may well cancel (as far ahead of time as possible, of course), I'd love to hear too. This whole thing is becoming quite stressful!
