Since this space hadn't been a Chinese restaurant in a few years I thought I would note the opening of Babyface Restaurant & Bar at 10602 Lower Azusa Road in El Monte. Babyface doesn't open until 5:30 pm, and since I don't ever remember being in El Monte at that hour or later, I'll have to rely on other hounds for an assessment of the food. Babyface appears to be a Taiwanese grill, with 25 different grilled items on the menu from chicken hearts to lamb kebabs to stinky tofu. Also a wide array of basil dishes, plus a variety of miscellaneous items such as duck tongues in XO sauce. No kitschy theme apparent unlike some of the other Taiwanese grills, though.
