I've scoured the internet for ideas, and although I entertain quite a bit, for some reason this one stumps me.
I am co-hosting a baby shower with two other women. Unfortunately I think I got assigned the "lead" because no one else was taking it and alas the baby shower is less than a week away. It will be at my house and will be co-ed. It is a jungle/safari theme. The other women are bringing flowers, balloons, a diaper cake, punch, a hummus and veggie tray, and a fruit tray. I have the remaining items including alcohol (the mom to be wants alcohol for the guests because it will be a co-ed shower), cupcakes, paper products, any other decor, and any missing menu items. I don't want to go too crazy with drinks and food--I'll need to be mindful of cost and of the time to prepare it all (especially noting that I still need to get my house in ship shape!). But I also don't want it to be lacking. So any guidance to fill in this menu and recipe ideas would be very much appreciated. So far we have:
Tortilla pinwheels (me)
veggie and hummus tray (other)
fruit tray (other)
non-alcoholic punch (other)
beer and wine (me)
I think I need at least one other appetizer. Also, to cut down on cost I was thinking of picking up grocery store cupcakes (gasp!). It looks like they can decorate them cute to match my theme. Do you think that would be acceptable?
