Baby Blues BBQ

This makes a second visit for us and it doesn’t disappoint. While food continues to be very tasty and we like the BYOB, a few things have influenced our decision to wait a while before going back.

As I said the food is as far as the items we’ve had they are all very good. I really like the shrimp, ribs and while the mac’n’cheese is good, it is kind of clumpy. We also ordered a slice of sweet potato pie(which had a grainy-sugary texture) and chocolate tart which weren’t very good at all. The pie could have really used some whip cream and the chocolate used in the tart seemed bland.

What really did it for us were two things. I guess one of the stoves were down that night, and few ads hit, so we ended up waiting almost 90 minutes to eat. By the time we ate, our beer and wine had gone dry making water a poor substitute. The second was the cost. $23.00 per entrée! Granted, the portions are large but 23 bucks for bbq seems a bit high.

It’s great to see a small place packing it in, enabling them to survive, but I’ll rethink going there on a Friday or Saturday nights for a while. I’d recommend Baby Blues but be aware they re suffering from growing pains.
