Went to F&F soft opening last night. It was fabulous. We are big fans of OTTO in NYC and this is indeed that plus more. More ambitious and extensive menu and larger portion offerings with great stuff coming from wood fired pizza oven, grille and ability to deep fry. Pizza totally different from NYC in a very good way. Service was efficient , informed and kind even with first night jitters. Energetic room but it wasn't distracting or headache inducing at all. As per OTTO bread sticks and rustic baguette wrapped on table. Wine served in quartinos. We had Bobbo chopped salad which was perfectly dressed and had many veggies in addition to several lettuces and chopped ham, then pepperanato nicely nicely done , meatballs ( beef and pork) which were large but fluffy not too compressed but not falling apart in a good red sauce Round 2 we ordered a Margherita pizza thin crust nice char not overloaded with mozzarella or basil. Not a slice left. And we had an order of the grilled hot Italian sausage. 2 huge links with good char ( too much to finish ). But did absolutely have to share an order of olive oil gelato. Perfect ending. I think portions more generous than NYC but prices not inflated in fact more than reasonable for the location ( pizza was 9 bucks and substantial in size) with definitely more ambitious offerings including several grilled meats ...Dennis from the bar in NYC is very involved and was in full training mode last night. Outdoor seating on the way for summer months. Open 11- midnight 7 days a week. We live very close by and now have an excellent reason to walk over the bridge. Likely a few nights a week! A wonderful addition and a very laudable maiden voyage. Suspect will be a tough ticket quite soon.
