...just keeps on rocking my world. I've yet to have a forgettable, average, just okay or subpar experience there, from either the food or service perspective. In my opinion, they're the best Spanish place in town with cozy but smart (NOT pretentionus) ambiance and they always deliver. In a town with so many choices they tend to be forgotten as "that Spanish restaurant at Belden place" but they're head and shoulders above their neighbors. I'll take B44 before ANY other tapas or the small plates Macchu Picchu restaurant du jour.
I believe (but not certain) that B44's menu has gotten an upgrade - there seem to be more appetizers and there are daily specials, one of which blew me away. It was a cauliflower puree (soup) spiced up with a curry and shrimp garnish. Wow. It is extremely hard to please me when it comes to soups and this one was perfect.
Go there, have a sangria and tell them they've got chowhounds on their trail.
