After enjoying several recent posts about Azafran my friends and I went tonite for a long-awaited visit. I hadn't been to this spunky little joint for well over two years, and I was definitely missing out. Without going into great detail, I'll say we all enjoyed our dishes tremendously and without exception. The ceviche (shrimp and salmon tonite) and tuna con fufu were outstanding. Tho we were 20 minutes late for our much fought for place on the 'reservation' list, Susanna graciously accomodated us and provided delicious desserts at the meal's end. Our Chateau St Michelle Gewurtz and Sonoma Zin were good matches. (Sidenote: I would love to see more wine recommendations in the BYOB reviews on this site.) The only downside to the meal was the one terribly hot seat at the table next to an overworked radiator, which nearly melted a friend's purse. All in all, a very pleasant Saturday evening, for a very reasonable price ($150 for six people, including tip). We'll be back.
