AZ - Longhorn Steakhouse in Chandler

Not sure if it's a chain or not, so posting here.

We noticed that the Longhorn Steakhouse had finally opened up, so we decided to go for dinner last Sunday night. Got there about 6pm and waited about 20 minutes for a table. There were 5 of us (3 adults, 2 kids) so I was kind of surprised when the first table they offered us was one of the high top tables in the bar. Seemed kind of odd. I worked a lot in the restaurant business growing up and was always taught to ask people if bar seating was OK. Any way, they did manage to give us a booth and I sat at the end in a chair. Place was smaller that it looks. The bar takes up almost 1/3 of the place.

Our server arrived and took our drink orders. Mostly water and some lemonades. The lemonade was very good (tart) and had refills.

She then brought out a loaf of bread. This was when I got to wondering if the restaurant was a chain. Bread was kind of served like they do at Outback. Hmmm. Anyways, I think the bread was some type of whole grain bread. Not too bad. I do prefer the bread at Outback though.

We then ordered dinner. My wife ordered the ribeye steak. My mother ordered the half rack of ribs. I got the 9 oz Flo's Filet. The kids had usual kid type food (hotdog and chicken nuggets). My wife and I also got salads. I asked for a dinner salad with Thousand Island and my wife ordered a caesar. I also asked whether or not they could do my dinner salad with romaine - no iceberg. They could and the salads were very good. The caesar had shaved paramesean slices on top. Very tasty.

After a good 20 minute wait dinner showed up. Not sure why it took so long. My mom really like the ribs. She remarked tender and falling off the bone. My wife's steak was cooked per her order and she really liked it. Both had baked potatoes with their main dishes. My steak was also tender and tasty. The only thing that I did not care for was my side order. It was Sautéed Mushrooms. The taste was ok, but was ruined by the amount of salt that they had added. Not just salyy, but ocean-type salty. When I told the manager after she came over to inquire about dinner, she immediatly offered to have them re-cook the shrooms, but at that point, I was too full to eat anymore. The kids also enjoyed their meals. Huge portions for kids.

No desserts. We were all too full. Overall, it was a good meal. I would probably go back.
