*THE* best AYCE sushi: in Hamilton

All-you-can-eat and sushi don't normally fare well together. In some respect you lose the quality... except for a little gem that recently opened in Hamilton.

There are over 150 items to chose from. We went for lunch the other Sunday for the $12.99 AYCE. This is a la carte and everything is made fresh. This is not only the best value, but the best sushi I've had ever.

We had everything from futomaki to red snapper rolls. The service is impeccable (and I'm quite a critic working in the restaurant industry myself). Tea, drinks and even dessert is unlimited. Don't evenget me started on how good the tempura is or the BBQ eel. I even ventured into trying a chicken tempura roll (I try and steer clear of "Americanized" stuff) and man was that a delight. Amazing what you can discover when the choices are unlimited.

In total our bill would have been just over $260 for the 2 of us (no alcohol). They have things individually priced in case you only want one thing, but for such a low price I'd go for the $12.99 belly buster.

$260 worth of sushi for $35 (this is including a tip for the exceptional service).

The restaurant is called Sushi Star ( and is on King right in the downtown core. Check it out, you will NOT be dissapointed!
