While passing through downtown Oakland I noticed Axtlan at Franklin and 19th. It wasn't there when I used to work in the area. My former coworker says it's great. She said their salsas are very hot and that the carnitas are excellent. She said they "carve slices of the carnitas" when your order, which left me utterly confused.
The only mention of the place is from Marc, which didn't sound too good. Anyone else have an opinion?
And what the heck is "deli" all about?
