Awesome dinner at The Tasting Room

My friends and I had the most astonishing meal at The Tasting Room this past weekend. I would highly recommend this place both for fabulous food, excellent wine selection (both by the glass and bottle) and incredibly professional service. There are only about 15 items on the menu and all come as either a "taste" (appetizer sized) portion or a large (entree sized) portion. We had eggplant dip with carmelized onions and a cumin yogurt sauce that was the epitome of haute cuisine baba ganoush, a duck terrine with pickled okra and jicama standing in for cornichons, a sea bass carpaccio with green apple puree and a wasabi mayo type of sauce, roast monkfish with cauliflower and crosnes that was so moist and tender it practically screamed off the plate and foie gras ravioli with fresh corn and baby lima beans that make my mouth water even now. The desserts were even better including my personal favorite, a whipped goat cheese and honey concoction served on braised fresh pineapples. YUM! The flavors of the food served here are so focused, yet uncomplicated it is amazing. The staff is well trained to help pair the interesting selection of wines by the glass to your courses and friendly help with ordering as well. I can't wait to go back as I thoroughly enjoyed my entire experience. This is the perfect restaurant for foodie/wine geeks that enjoy trying lots of different things.
