I think it's time I admitted the truth: The Big Wong isn't getting it done anymore. Their roast duck - for decades the best in Chinatown - pales in comparison to its former glory. Which makes me ineffibly sad, since I feel like I grew up, culinarily speaking, there.
But it's time to buck up. Where to now? Who's roasting ducks to headspinning heights in Chinatown?
Has anyone been to the provocatively named "New Big Wang"? None of the other Wongs around town are much to speak of, and although the English transliteration of the Wang is different, the Chinese character is the same, suggesting perhaps a relationship to the former mothership.
