I feel like I have been holding out on you guys. The first time I went to Avenue in Manhattan Beach I wanted to run right home and post, but neglected to do it. Tonight I must. I just stoped in for a couple of apps., and they were awesome. I had the white corn soup with truffled croistini. Great. I almost swayed from my appetizer plan b/c the lamb sounded so good, but I took the bartenders suggestion and had the smoked trout over frisee with haricot vert and cucumber. The first bite was true bliss. The combination worked so well. Rich and fresh at the same time. Combined with an awesome wine list, the menu just absolutely rocks. And I didn't even have cheese tonight!
