Just went to Hugo's tacos, for the third time. I like the tacos, but today we had the nachos. Lurking down at the bottom were beans -- but beans unlike any I've ever seen in Mexican cuisine. They were white beans, aka cannellini beans, which I usually associate with Italian food. But I know Mexico is a big place with lots of differences in regional cooking. Are they authentic to Mexico? THey sure didn't taste good in the nachos. They were very, um, moist, with lots of goopy sauce that may have been pureed beans. Not good. So what's it all about?
