Authentic Chinese Restaurant for ~ 20 people (preferably in private room?)

Hello Manhattaners,

I'm planning a birthday party for the end of this month, and would like to find an authentic Chinese restaurant in Manhattan that could handle a large party (~20 people), preferably in a private room.

Last year, I did this at Grand Sichuan in the West Village --- they set up a very long table against the banquette at the back of their dining room. This was fine, but not ideal. The long table made it hard for people at opposite ends to converse, and the restaurant wasn't packed, but it wasn't quiet either.

I've also thought of doing this at Wu Liang Ye on 48th Street --- they said that they could give me the two large round tables at the front of the room. Again, that seemed okay, but not ideal.

Does Evergreen Shanghai (on 38th) have a private room? Or another branch of Wu Liang Ye, Grand Sichuan or Szechuan Gourmet?

i would prefer to do this somewhere that's closer to mid-town than Chinatown, but I don't mind going anywhere in Manhattan if that's what it takes.

And most importantly, I would prefer this not to be a Cantonese/Fujianese restaurant.

Thank you all!
