Austin Grill - Annapolis

First of all, let me say that I'm hard to please with any kind of Mexican/TexMex, being born and raised in San Antonio, but I still need to get a fix every now and then, even if I know it will be disappointing.

That said, I wandered in to Austin Grill about 12:45. It's a large place, attached to the Annapolis Mall. I'm guessing room for about 150 people or so...I was one of 7 that I saw. Not good.

A fellow looked at me seat myself - as there was no one around - he then disappeared. For about 5 minutes I looked around and even asked another table if anyone was working. I got up, went to the front (mall entrance) saw a waitperson and asked. She replied that yes, someone was working the bar area. I got my own menu and went to sit back down. Another 5 minutes passed before the fellow who I first saw, came to the table. I was ready, and hungry. I ordered a cup of Queso and Tacos al Carbon. Fair enough

Chips and salsa with drink arrived straight away, queso shortly after. It was pretty much Velveeta with RoTel tomato. Chips were excellent though. Tacos came along shortly. Black beans and rice had zero flavor. The two tacos were pretty good, but the whole meal for $22, including a 20% tip was not a good value at all.

Won't be making another visit any time soon.
