If given the choice where would you select? I will be going to one of them tonight most likely. Both menus sound equally delicious and both have been on my must try list for some time.
Here is what my proposed meal would be after viewing both menus
Starter- CRISPY SOFT SHELL BLUE CRAB - BELGIAN ENDIVE, GRANNY SMITH APPLE, SMOKED PAPRIKA, "SAUCE RÉMOULADE"
Main- CANADIAN LOBSTER TAIL VS. BERKSHIRE PORK BELLY- SQUASH, PORCINI MUSHROOMS, CAPE GOOSEBERRIES, JURA WINE, ALMOND EMULSION
Dessert- This was tough either.. CHERRY BRIOCHE PANZANELLA
ALMOND CREAM, ROASTED CHERRY SORBET, FENNEL or SWEET CORN SOUFFLÉ
BLUEBERRY CHUTNEY, FROZEN YOGURT, BROWN BUTTER
Cost $84, but 15% off for the soft opening.
Bar Room at Modern
Starter- Roasted Long Island Duck Breast with peppercorn-crusted apples and toasted
pistachio-truffle dipping sauce
Mid course- Beer Braised Pork Belly with sweet pea purée and ginger jus
Entree- Duck Confit with shishito pepper hash, passion fruit and natural jus
Dessert- Beignets with maple ice cream, mango, dipping sauces or Caramel and Vanilla sundae with pecan biscuit (I may even decide to get both since the portions I have heard are small)
Cost- About $70-75
