August 2020 COTM: Nominations

MelMM | Jul 13, 202010:06 AM     55

The summer is flying by! Time to start our nomination process for August. To make a nomination, put the title of the book in ALL CAPS. Titles not in all caps will not count as a nomination. You can nominate more than one book. Please make your nominations with the intent of cooking along if the nominee should become Cookbook of the Month. Nominations will close on July 20, at 10am EDT, at which point we will have a vote.

It's also time to start the process of wrangling a new coordinator. If someone wants to volunteer, please comment in this thread. I do have a proposal, though. Sometimes it has been hard to get someone to coordinate. I think this is because it is a large commitment, of doing several posts per month for several months. I wonder if a system like that used for DOTM would work better here. That system involves a group approach, with 6 coordinators working together. Every six months, a schedule is arranged where each coordinator takes a month. If something comes up, and a person cannot post in their month, another coordinator can step in and cover for them. And the coordinators are all always monitoring the threads and covering each other. I'd like feedback from you all on whether you think a system like this might be better for COTM. If there is general agreement, we can start forming a group.

And lastly, don't forget our current COTM, the works of Bryant Terry, is still going strong right here: https://www.chowhound.com/post/july-2...
