Atomic 29 - Gilbert/Mesa

Billy Bob | Oct 19, 200709:39 AM     16

Julie and I went and checked out Atomic 29 Grill located on the Northwest Corner of Gilbert and Baseline. It is located in the old Seafood restaraunt building. They have only been open for a week or two. They bill themselves as having the most beers on tap in the valley with their 29 selections, but I was a little dissapointed with the selection. I understand having an American Pilsner or two to appease the media influenced masses, but as far as a good selection of handcrafted microbrewed beer, I'd say they barely rate a passing grade. They did have a good Rogue beer and a Mirror Pond that was pretty good, but I would rate the selection at Old Chicago a whole lot better. We are going to try the other two new microbrew places in the Southeast valley, Red, White and Brew and Santan Brewing in the next few weeks. Hopefully they will match up better with my expectations.
