Living just around the corner from Atlas 1, i have always wanted to try it but never did. They it went under some reno's, brought in a new chef (from Jump) and changed thier menu from middle eastern to latin american - medeterainian.
FInally got the grandarents to baby sit and we got the chance to go in and I am glad we did. The food is excellent! Having The Rushton and Ferro as the main goto places in the nieghborhood is good and all, but for the same price, the food its much better than either of those restaurants. (Dont get me wrong i enjoy both, and am looking forward to Catch opening up) but from an overall uniqueness and quality of the food, its is much better!
I had a bouliabaise and my wife had the ravioli and both were tasty and fresh.
If anyone is planning on the rushton or ferror one evening, try Atlas One. The atmosphere is much more relaxed and dark than either of those, (ie - not as noisy) but sooo goood.
While it wasnt that busy (as the others), it wasnt empty. However,. I just want to see restaurants that are that good to succeed and stay open and make my 'hood a place for foodies.
Give it a try, it wont dissapoint!
