atlas 150 pasta machine question--dough not feeding through straight

trentesept | Oct 6, 201302:38 PM

hello,
i just received a new atlas 150. i know how they should work because i've been using a borrowed machine for the last 6 months. i've made tons of successful pasta with it. on my new machine, however, something happens when i reach 6; the dough starts to feed through crooked and buckles and wrinkles. it's as though one side is pulling in the dough faster than the other side.

i have tried this with many batches of dough and on different days of differing degrees of humidity, and the same thing happens every time. could this be a defect that the rollers are not parallel? has anyone ever experienced this? it's pretty frustrating as i cannot roll out a thin sheet of consistent width. i've spent most of today trying to do it and am almost ready to throw it all out the window :P

if anyone knows anything about how to fix this, your reply be much appreciated. thank you!
