Last evening we went out to celebrate my wife's birthday. On the way to our dining destination, we decided to check Van Gogh's on the off chance that they might have a table available. It was 7:30 on Friday evening, and tables were immediately available.
Van Gogh's is beyond our budget for regular dining, but last night was appropriate.
Each entree was outstanding. Our two children (typically picky eaters) nearly cleaned their plates. They had pork tenderloin and lamb roast. We had crab cakes and lobster, shrimp and scallops on risotto. The risotto, on my plate and my daughter's, was the best I have ever had.
For dessert, we ordered the Birthday Surprise - a sampler of the day's offerings. My son felt the creme brulee was the best he had ever had. My wife said the biscotti was the best she had ever had. My daughter just quietly sampled everything on the plate.
