Atlanta Meals...so far

Hit town on Sunday night and had our first meal at Tamarind Thai. Food was good, but nothing special. I seem to recall some Hounds were not crazy about their service? We found it to be excellent in any case. We were told they were going to open a place in Miami soon.

Today we had a wonderful lunch at Baronda..As good as advertised on this site. Very impressed. To the point that instead of just placing fresh mushrooms on their pizza, they took the time to first saute them. Good stuff.

Dinner at MidCity Cuisine was very good. I had two excellent pork chops, perfectly seasoned and cooked. My wife had the chicken and said it was very good.

The only negative was their pomme frites. Yes, they were fresh cut, but they were french fries ...Thick cut rather than what we expected...super thin cut "French" fried potatoes. Pomme Frites only refers to the frying process, but we were anticipating the very thin potatoes that you find in a French restaurant. Hey, their customers are happy with them. Saw three orders pass by as we were eating and there were not many customers so it's obviously a popular item.

Tommorrow we're really looking forward to going to DeKalb and the Farmers' Market. Went on the CNN Tour and that was excellent and well worth the money. Also went on the Coke tour and that was not worth our time or money.

The people we've encountered have been very friendly and helpful. Some really beautiful buildings in Atlanta. Nice town!
