I am graduating from Syracuse University in May, and the drama department takes our whole class to New York for a week of "getting aquainted with the industry." All fine and good, but these kids are clueless as to where to eat! It would make me so sad to see them all heading off to some overpriced diner for the fifth time in one week, just because they don't know where else to go.
So, being the sole chowhound in my class of 60, I am working on assembling a list of great cheap-ish places that people can try while they're in the city. So far I have some obvious ones and some that I just like myself, but I would love your suggestions. We'll be all over the city, so any area of manhattan is great. Any suggestions would be a big help, but I'd particularly like to find some cheap-ish good sushi and some chinatown hints, as well as stuff on the upper west side and midtown. Here is what I've included so far, in no particular order:
Hampton Chutney Company
Pepe Rosso To Go
Republic (for london abroad students who miss wagamama)
Bagels - Murray's, Ess-a-Bagel, Bagel Zone on ave A
Celia's on 39th
Thanks for your help!
