Asian Harbor -- Homewood, IL

I've eaten at Asian Harbor twice now since New Years. The first time, I thought that my exceptional experience might have been due to the fact that it was the first sushi I'd had in 9 months. (Miriam was born Dec 17th, btw).

So, we got takeout from there again last night, this time both sushi and Thai.

I have to tell you, it is excellent. I don't know how Homewood got so lucky as to have such an excellent sushi place, but wow.

The service (dine in) is fantastic and spot on. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Presentation was gorgeous, and the food, well it really was excellent. The fish was fresh, tasty, and perfectly sized. It was the best sushi I've had since moving back to the Midwest. And the prices are good!

My only complaints, the Thai food is okay. I've gotten better Thai downtown, but for the suburbs, it was decent. Also, their take-out service needs some work. I phoned the order in and had to talk to three different people to get the order placed, and when my husband went to pick up the food, they were very confused and told him that he couldn't be picking up a phone order, because a woman had placed the only phone order that night. :)

He did eventually get it straightened out though, and came home with dinner.

Anyway, if you are looking for really great sushi, give Asian Harbor a try.
