Asian Cajun Not A Fad After All; Oysters, On The Other Hand...

So it looks like I was wrong back three or four years ago, along with many other hounds, in thinking that the Asian Cajun fad in the SGV would die out and the imitators jumping on the Boiling Crab/Crabulous bandwagon would fall by the wayside. But in fact there are quite a few more of these running around the San Gabriel Valley now than they were back then. The latest contender is Crazy Crab at 523 S. San Gabriel Bl. in San Gabriel. It seems to have opened in the past two or three weeks so I haven't had a chance to pop in. However, more significantly it replaces the only Chinese oyster bar I knew of, the oddly named My Friends, which had succeeded Vino's Oyster Bar at that spot. I guess this solidifies Asian Cajun a permanent member of the styles of cuisine in the SGV.
