We went to Ashmont Grill on Saturday. With kids in tow, we arrived at 5:05 and were immediately seated. If we had arrived at 5:30 there would have been a wait because this restaurant filled up fast.
The restaurant was very, very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The staff was friendly and busy. The crowd seemed happy to be there. No attitude here.
The handcut fries were good, the onion rings basic. The steak a little chewy but had good flavor. The burger looked good and that's what I'll order next time. The mac and cheese was bland and boring, surprising given the ingredients. It could use better aged cheese or something else to give it a boost.
We don't live in the neighborhood (anymore), but we'll be back.
