Why isn't the Blue Mist more celebrated on this site? It's an authentic wood-burning cue joint in an appealing retro diner setting conveniently located on I-64. Great cue, great slaw, great beans, good pups, good biscuits, friendly service. Just the kind of place I would expect to excite the salivary glands of Chowhounders. And yet it seems little known. Certainly it's better than Stameys and Parkers, which I often hear lauded to the skies.
And, by the way, relative to the discussion below, I think Lexington #1 is overrated. I've often found the cue kind of mushy (as opposed to succulent) and the sides neither here nor there.
My NC cue favorites:
Allen and Sons
Bob Melton (closed alas)
Lexington Style Trimmings
Proviso: I haven't tried the Skylight Inn.
