New Artisan Breads at Farmers Markets

Nancy Berry | Apr 13, 200211:32 AM

I've been buying some fabulous breads from a new San Francisco bakery that only sells at farmers markets -- they are just 7 months old and they told me that they will be bringing their breads to some better retail shops and markets (like Tower and Rainbow in SF) soon but, for now, they are just at the Serramonte market on Thursday mornings, the Oakland market (near the housewive's market) on Friday mornings, and at the College of San Mateo market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

These breads and rolls are really good -- they bake a levain, baguettes, olive loaves and rolls, walnut loaves, fruit breads -- these vary -- the one we had contained prunes and apricots -- it made fabulous toast, and they also bake tarts and other pastries.

I think that they are called Brioche Boulangere, but I'm not sure -- they didn't really have a sign -- just great breads on display! Anyway, look for them at those farmers markets.
