arizmendi redux

As a relatively new poster to and reader of this board, I must say that it has already paid dividends. First, as noted previously, I got to make new friends, see an old friend an enjoy some fabulous food at the recent Chowhounds dinner at San Wong. Now, as a result of my intrepid Chowhounds friends discovery of Arizmendi and sharing the pertinent info, got to devour some of the finest baked goods ever over the weekend.


Two Cheese Rolls-While enjoyable at the source, try a few moments in the toaster oven!! Oh my.

English muffins-Puts the bagged ones to shame, especially with eggs.

Seedy Baguette-Warm when purchased, therefore only about 1/2 of it survived the journey home.

Wolverine-Gone immediately.

Pizza-I suspect this will start a controversy as to whether any of the longstanding pizza champions have a better pie than Arizmendi. I will reserve comment on that for now, suffice to say however that this pizza was on a higher plane. We got a half pie, referred to as the "lite-bake". Take it home and finish it in your own oven, to better savor the fresh baked goodness. This was a cheese, red onion,mushroom, red bell pepper pesto, with fresh parsley. The sourdough crust stays amazingly crisp and has the flavor to stand on its own, thus comlimenting the other flavors. As some of you know, the pizzas change daily. My taste buds are now at war with my waistline. To the winner go the spoils. Thank you fellow chowhounds.
