I think this was their opening day weekend. There is, in my opinion, some chow-worthy stuff here to mention, if I even know what that word means.
I talked to the guy at the meat counter, just to see what kind of animals those were hanging (skinned, of course) in the windows behind him. They were whole goat and whole lamb. I checked the tags myself, so I know. They were a sight to see that’s for sure. For the exotic, they've got the organs! Liver, kidney, tripe, tongue, feet, head, (a mix of beef and lamb) you name it, and they have probably got it in the organ department. It’s right there in the fresh meat rack. None of the meat is packaged either so they're probably doing the butchering somewhere on the premises. Lots of good looking steaks, chicken, and crosscut ribs.
The place was a little pricey (for produce & grocery) in my opinion. It’s owned by Middle-Eastern folks and they have a whole lot of spices, and good oils, that I can’t usually get in this neighborhood. If you are in the neighborhood, it might be worth a stop. I’m quite happy they’re here.
I bought what I could, but I was walking, so couldn't take much. It would be nice if a real chowhoud visited the place to confirm the quality. I think it's good.
