Aria Trattoria -- a report

Skipper | Feb 28, 2005 11:15 AM

My SO and I and another couple had tickets to the Capital Steps in the Reagan Building last Saturday night and wanted to dine before the 7:30 p.m. show. It seemed logical to choose the Aria for dinner as it is in the same building and will validate parking for dinner and the theater as well. Assuming that 1 1/2 hours was sufficient time, we made 6:00 p.m. reservations. We arrived on time and our orders were taken in a reasonably timely manner, the wine arrived promptly, but the restaurant evidently had kitchen problems because our main courses never came out. Appetizers did get served eventually, but at 7:15 we cancelled our main course orders in order to make the 7:30 curtain. To be honest, the restaurant management was accomodating: we were only charged for the wine and our parking was validated. So, though a little hungry through the show, we were not totally aggrieved. I should note further that we were not the only patrons who cancelled a main course that evening.
