The Aremenian Gourmet, Sunnyvale - Worthy Lunch Place

ChristineV | Jul 19, 200503:03 PM

Just had lunch at The Armenian Gourmet in Sunnyvale and was delighted. I had the chicken kebab with salad - and it was delicious. The chicken itself was oustanding as it was moist and had great flavor. The salad it comes wiht is their "gourmet salad" an apparent signature of the house which consists of lettuce, feta, olives and mushrooms and is also delicious. I opted for no rice pilaf and they gave me extra salad which I was glad for. The kabab with salad plate is a bit pricey ($10) but the quantity of food is enough to make it possible to share.

Other items on the menu consist of things like tabbuli, hummos, baba ghanouj, beureg, jajukh as well as entrees of shish and lulleh kababs. While I've not tried any of the others, I'd would go back again and again for the chicken alone! And judging from the line of people waiting (must get there early) I'd say I'm not the only one impressed. (The restaurant has also been open since the 70's I believe.)
