Aqus Cafe, Petaluma

I stopped at Aqus Cafe in Petaluma for lunch today because I was looking for another place (had the wrong address) and saw this place on the corner with tables and umbrellas and people. So I went in and found a funky/artsy converted-industrial space with good-looking food on people's plates. For some reason their turkey chili attracted me so I ordered a bowl of it and it may be the best chili I've ever had. I know that preferences in chili are very personal and varied, but this hit my preference just right (complex flavors, mild heat, lots of meat, smaller amount of beans). A bit later I stopped in at Sonoma Valley Portworks down the street (another post) and the owners both raved about Aqus Cafe, so it's not just good for turkey chili. I saw posters on the door indicating live music at least some nights. It's located a short distance off the beaten path in the Foundry Wharf area.
