Unlike commercial facilities, home kitchens can be personal as well as practical. Here are some things I love in mine:
Vollrath mirage portable induction unit with elaborate software controls for power, temperature, and safety. I've had five years of fun exploring the possibilities with my cookware.
Technovorm moccamaster one cup coffee maker gives me great coffee-one cup at a time--powered by the flip of a switch that turns itself off.
W-S Thermoclad 9" featherweight nonstick omelette pan is still just as nonstick for eggs as when I bought it.
All Clad 2 qt. Coppercore saucier is the perfect combination of copper and aluminum for nuanced cooking--and it cleans up easily. BTW, it's really beautiful to look at as well.
Hestan nanobond 28 cm fry pan is my most beautiful pan. I often use it with my domed All Clad lid from another pan.
Staub 26 cm. ECI cocotte w/steamer insert is my preferred tool to steam my vegetables.
Le Creuset Zen enameled steel whistling tea kettle
8" Miyabi birchwood damascus chef's knife is as enjoyable to use as it is to look at.
6.8" Xintua Zhen mini cleaver has recently replaced my treasured Kai Shun nakiri as my vegetable superstar--both for performance and beauty.
3.5" Wusthof Precision "mini chef's knife" is my most used knife--stationed next to my computer.
I have most of my cookware displayed--and it includes many pieces of specialty ECI pots and pans as well as Kobenstyle enameled pieces designed by Danish designer Jens Quistgaard. These pieces are seldom used, but they make my kitchen come to life! Likewise my knives that are visible on a magnetic wood strip and a special Zwilling display.
Wat are your treasures?
