Doing some of the necessary leg work prior to the pending kitchen romodel. There are way more appliances to consider than I would have thought. I'm really leaning towards the Thermador cook top with the "star" burnners. Anyone have one and what has been your experience.
Also, I'm not hung up on matching appliances, although we have gone on kitchen tours where that was common, but what about appliances with doors, like the fridge, oven, and dishwasher, should they match as the handles are the most prominant feature from a design stand point or does it really not make any difference? I don't want the kitchen to look pieced together, but I also want the best appliances for each task. The stovetop really doesn't matter I don't think, because there is no door. None of our appliances match now, but it's a 28 year old kitchen and just about everything has been replaced at one point or another. We're thinking about an Electralux frige, that's all frige and we've had very good luck and are very pleased with our Kitchen Aid dishwasher. Which leave the convection oven/speed oven up for grabs. What do you design savey ChowHounds think?
