Hi! I just joined to ask this question and also because Chowhound comes up in lots of cooking threads, so, glad to be here.
About 9 or 10 years ago (possibly more), I found a copy cat recipe for Tequila Lime Chicken from Applebee's. I made it and it was very time-intensive (or so it seemed at the time). It was delicious, though, and I haven't been able to find it anymore. Now all the recipes take a short cut with the "Mexi-Hot" sauce by using ranch dressing. Ew. Before when I made it, I had to put what seemed like 6-10 ingredients into mayonnaise to create the sauce and the tequila was only 1 tablespoon. Does anyone have the really long recipe without the icky ranch dressing shortcuts? Thank you in advance if you do, I would LOVE to make it again now that I don't mind spending all the time in the kitchen for a great payoff.
