I want to bake one of those apple pies that are deep - I guess deep dish - and incredibly simple. Piles and piles of sliced apples. No cornstarch, I don't even think there's any flour or other thickening agents (I hate glop). Plain, pastry crust. Simple, lots of apples, but somehow I can't seem to find a recipe. Anyone got one?
I think I saw a pie like that at the Cupcake Cafe on 39th street before...haven't been back in a while. Been on my mind for a while, and the versions I just had at Thanksgiving did nothing to satisfy my craving.
