Has anybody ever tried this method of baking an apple pie in a paper bag? I read about it on Jane and Michael Stern's Roadfood website, where they raved about a pie from the Elegant Farmer and said it was the best pie they'd ever eaten. Does it produce a pie with a flaky crust? I found a recipe from Gale Gand's Sweet Dreams show on Foodtv. Another worry I have is whether is is safe to bake in a brown paper bag. I heard that because it is made from recycled material, it could catch fire in the oven. What about using those oven bags that Reynolds makes?
