... and I don't see why they get such glowing recommendations.
The fries ($2/plate) were nice and hot out of the fryer and the guy behind the counter actually poured the ketchup for me. Then me and my friend each ordered a burger: steakburger for him, hickory burger for me. I think the only difference was that mine came with some sort of hickory sauce...
The burgers were good, but not worth $6.10 or the 20 minute drive.
And at a place called The Apple Pan, you've got to try their apple pie, right? So for $5.25 I thought the slice was either going to be enourmous and/or fantastically mind-blowing. No on both counts. At least for me.
I like my apples to be crunchy and my crust to be chewy. The Apple Pan's pie crust was thin and the apples were mushy. I also like my apple pies with lots of spices and this pie wasn't as aromatic as I wanted.
It's an interesting place if you're looking for a different surrounding. There is only counter seating so you're up close and personal with the chefs/waiters. If you leave any trash on the counter, they'll sweep it up right away. And the service is very quick.
But for my money, I'd rather go to In 'n Out... though I liked the fries at Apple Pan more.
