Has anyone ever made their own apple butter before? I'd like to make some to bring in for my students to eat on homemade corn muffins. Some limitations: I don't have a super-well-equipped kitchen right now because I am living abroad--no chinois or anything and not a whole lot of pots. I do have too large-ish pots, one of them fairly heavy, a fine mesh strainer and an immerson blender, if that helps at all. I also am not looking to make a huge amount and I'm not trying to can it or anything. I just want to make some as a treat for the kids and maybe have a little leftover for myself and my housemates. :-) Anyone have any recipes or advice? Is this possible given my circumstances?
