This is a wonderful oasis in heart of city. From the terrace/patio menu I had the bbq pork short rib spareribs ($17) which I worried might be messy but meat just fell off bones so quite easy to eat, served with roasted potato slices in skins, cooked apple slices, green salad with good dressing; all divided in 3 section plate. Each meal on menu was paired with a suggested house wine, the st emilion offered was good. No regular coffee but espresso was excellent. There were variety of prices on menu with most expensive being a fish dish at $27. The bavette was $17 but was served in a salad although not specified on menu. I saw some people having wine with cheese plate. Service was friendly, helpful and fast. I loved the location as terrace extends from inner courtyard park with fountain to outside part near street but still overlooking greenery of church. There were families, couples and single persons and they easily accomodated large groups. Of interest to those who may want to try their brunch it is not offered on the terrace and begins at 11:30 saturdays and sundays. The only odd thing I noticed which I had not seen with the Parchemin was the waiters go to kitchen door around street side to get orders, clear table, etc (also there is a group of staff smoking there in front of kitchen door) I guess it is more convenient for all than going up stairs into restaurant. I certainly think this would be a good venue for tourists or shoppers who are looking for pleasant resto choices in downtown or place des arts/spectacles vicinity. Portions are not large so might disappoint some but for light meals in relaxing surroundings a half block up from ste catherine (across from Bay) Apollo is well worth a stop. I will leave it to someone else to comment on the indoor restaurant experience as the terrace will be one of my favourites from now on.
