APDC: overrated ?

I know I know: APDC is a cool place, it serves food like you won't find anywhere else, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is fun, it's a great place to get a feel for quebecois cuisine if you're a tourist. But... The last couple of times I've been there, the food was frankly disappointing. The tartare de chevreuil was bland as hell, another appetizer (the name of which escapes me) was much ado about not much, the poutine de foie gras' only good point was the foie gras... It all tasted a bit like seasonings were deemed not necessary to the experience, only fat and protein were (and of course salt & pepper shakers are not provided). The pouding chomeur was killer though, but of course by that time you have to force yourself to eat. Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm the only one thinking that APDC's reputation is a bit overdone. The cuisine I've sampled at Brunoise, La Chronique, La Gaudriole, O Thym, etc... has been infinitely superior to APDC's (though the atmosphere wasn't). Any thoughts from regulars ?
