Went to AOC for the first time the other night. Read all the hype and had some friends take me there who love it. First I have done Lucques many times and was always happy with the food there up until about a month ago. Had a bad experience with the food quality and service. I figured Susan has all the good bodies at AOC so I was excited to go and try her food again. We ordered around eight dishes and a couple of desserts at the end. First I found some of the dishes to sound appetizing but most were overpowered by salt or paparika. Also there was way to many oils floating around in my mouth to taste the food. The desserts were ok. The Chocolate dome was dissapointing. However the meyer lemon pie was good. It was probably the sweet tartness which helped all the salt in my mouth. As for courses I found the blood orange salad to be ok. Does anyone know when Susan is actually in the kitchen cooking?
