The reviews are true - this place is a gem!

Had Bob's pasta toss with spaghetti substituted for shells. Spectacular.

The little woman (not any more!) had the chicken parmigiana. I am not a big fan of breading, but she seemed to enjoy it.

Mostrous portions for our $8.95 and $7.95. We took like 3/4 home. On top of which they comped us a free salad (one dish came with it; we got 2), free meatballs, extra bread, and drinks.

Bread, btw, was really good too! Deceptive - looked like lame KFC bisquits, but tasted like a fresh baguette.

Cheaper options included pasta (spaghetti, shells, or 3 others) and sauce (2, I think) for 4.95, SALAD INCLUDED. And if our dishes were any indication, that would be enough to feed 2-3 people on its own! (Not sure how they'd feel about that, though - didn't see mention of any "minimums", but).

My only complaint was that the place lacked the atmosphere expected. Homey little Italian dive, but not so divey as, say, Santarpio's. Was more like a take-out pizza-sub-calzone place. Which is fine, but I was expecting a little more Santarpio's mood.

Oh, and the bathroom - avoid at all costs!! Straight out of Chinatown. Nay, straight out of an impovershed Chinese village. After an earthquake. And a flood.

Maybe they were trying to recreate Venice.
