My friend is cleaning out the 200 year old family home of her recently deceased grandparents. I'm a lucky girl, 'cause I keep getting cool antiques. Yesterday she gave me what appears to be a pie plate. It is metal, yellow on the outside. It is fluted with a raised bottom. It's the raised bottom I can't figure out. This means there is about a 3/4 inch wide and 3/4 deep "moat" around the outside of the pie pan. Does that make sense? So the middle of the bottom crust would be shallower than the bottom edge. sorry I didn't take a picture.
