Last year's thread here: http://www.chowhound.com/post/philly-...
My husband and I are looking to return to some of our favorites and try some new spots after Christmas. We have two days/nights (two dinners and multiple bars, two breakfasts, and perhaps a lunch) though some meals will be non-Chowhoundy and spent with family. We are returning to Parc for brunch and Zahav for our anniversary dinner. We love the craft beer in Philly. No Italian for us as we will be pasta-d out after Christmas.
Last year we loved Happy Hour at Amada and a drop-in dinner at Townsend. The year before we liked Vernick so I made a repeat reservation there to have something but I would rather try somewhere new for dinner. We like to hit a couple of bars for drinks and snacks before dinner.
On my radar--
Fountain Porter- beer for my husband
Tinto (at least for happy hour) or Jamonera
Alla Spina- beer
Hop Sing (this and Alla SPina have been on our list for years so we've really got to go this year!)
Serpico- Yelp seems to have mixed reviews but the menu looks creative and interesting
Kanella- think we've got to get brunch here, this has also been on my list for years
Stargazy- recommended here last year but didn't make it
Abe Fisher- happy hour
ITV- Laurel looks expensive but this sister place looks up our alley and we liked the East Passyunk vibe last year.
Martha- have been wanting to get up to Fishtown and this place has sours which are my favorite beers
Barbuzzo- read about the cruffin on Eater and can't help but be curious!
South Philly Barbacoa- lunch or snack
Are there any new and great beer spots that I've missed or other under-the-radar restaurants turning out delicious food? Nothing too fancy or stuffy, prefer festive for this trip. Thank you all as always!
